January 1952. Twenty-three-year-old medical student Ernesto Guevara and his twenty-nine-year-old biochemist friend Alberto Granado leave Buenos Aires behind to explore South America.
On a single-cylinder Norton 500cc, the Poderosa (la poderosa) as Ernesto had named it which means "the almighty - the powerful".
Nine months of travel by steamboats, rafts, trucks, horses, hitchhiking. Volunteer work in hospitals and over 8,000 kilometers in places like the Andes and the Atacama desert. In his diary he records the experiences he lived.
Faced with poverty, hunger and misery, Ernesto slowly transforms into a revolutionary.
Although he comes from an upper-class family, he expresses his willingness to fight and die for the justice of the oppressed, but also his dream of seeing a united Latin America.

"Today, in fact, the revolution demands that they learn, it demands that they understand well that the pride that comes from serving our fellow man is much more important than a good income, that people's gratitude is more permanent, it lasts much longer than gold can accumulate someone.....If we already have all the elements to move towards the future, let's remember the phrase of Jose Marti, which we must apply constantly: << The best way to say something is to do it>>.
